Bouncing Narratives

Bouncing Narratives is a jumbled mess centres around a trauma that cannot be expressed in words, and bounces back again and again. Nuances of rhythm and speed animate the installation towards a trance-like intensity. In this interdisciplinary collaborative project, Roza Moshtaghi and Shahrzad Malekian propose a heterotopian space for the alienated body, the vulnerable self of a ‘monster identity’ and the gap between the self and the ‘other’. The installation consists of an approx. 2.6m tall robust container with a trampoline as its roof. Spectators are invited to witness the performance from both beneath and around this transparent/bouncing surface.
